important Events coming up!

While the 2 Annual First Aid Competition Teams are still training hard on every Monday, Tuesday & Friday for the BIG day on 27 March, Sun, we have many other events taking place in SJAB!


CHINGAY PARADE PUBLIC DUTY

The annual Chingay Parade is happening on 12 Feb which is this Saturday! It is a rare opportunity that our cadets can be involved in this public duty event as first aiders on standby. You have to understand that the 10 different zones in Singapore take turns for such big scale National events. Last year, a few of our cadets were members of marching contingent for National Day Parade! :))

Anyway, we have 5 cadets who will be participating in this year's Chingay Parade PD. They are Glenn Giam, Randy Lee, Ma Hay Man Soe, Janice Tan and Pearlyn Soh from Secondary 3... I believe it will be a fun and memorable experience for them.

First Aid Competition Briefing
Happening on 26 Feb is the Games Day. The Competition Briefing will also be held that day so Comp Team cadets please take note and attendance is compulsory.

I still remember last year's Games Day. We had 44 members going to Hwa Chong Institution and all of us had fun... Well, the Sec 1 cadets will join us this Friday for the first time during CCA and they will say their pledge solemnly on 26 Feb. As for the games, we are sending in 1 girls team from the upper Sec. We are sending in just 1 team (we had 3 last year) because many of our cadets have signed up for the Singapore Cancer Society Flag Day. Don't worry! there's always another Games Day next year~

BADGES/COURSES!!

The KOTO module which has spread across 3 weeks has finally ended. It was announced on the last CCA Friday that there will be a KOTO test this coming Friday so here is a GENTLE REMINDER, PLEASE GO AND READ YOUR NOTES!! :D

As our corps is soOOooOOoo Big, it is quite impossible for everyone to sit for the KOTO examination all at one go so we will have to split into 2 groups. The first group will go for 12 March while the second will go for 28 May. Once signed up for the test, make sure you study hard and pass it OKAY! You know just how important KOTO badge is to a SJAB cadet. It is a compulsory badge in order to achieve the Chief Commissioner's Badge (5 CCA points!!) And it is important to know the history of your own CCA!

CD course (Civil Defence) will take place on 14 & 15 March, Mon & Tues.

SANA course (Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association) will take place on 17 March, Thursday. After the course, you will be required to go online and complete a survey in order to pass the entire badgework.

Again, once signed up for the test, make sure you attend the course (full day course from morning till late afternoon) and pass it in order to clinch a brand new badge for yourself! =D
